Screen Direction
This is an important concept for editors and is part of the cinematic language. Screen direction refers to how the actors, vehicles or other objects move on screen from the vantage point of the audience.
Camera Left (AKA Frame Left): Refers to movement on or towards the left side of the frame.
Camera Right (AKA Frame Right): Refers to movement on or towards the right side of the frame.
Foreground: Is the space near the camera (closest to the audience)
Background: The space further away from the camera.
So the rule is quite simple. You want to make sure you don't confuse your audience. If your actor or vehicle exits screen right, they should enter screen left. If the actor or vehicle exits screen left they should enter screen right.
